The new Bachelor (BS) degree shall be of 4 years duration, and will require the completion of 130-136 credit hours. It also aimed to give a basic, broad based knowledge to the students to ensure the quality of education. A committee of experts comprising of conveners from the National Curriculum Revision of HEC in Basic, Applied Social Sciences and Engineering disciplines met in April 2007 and developed a unified template to standardize degree programs in the country to bring the national curriculum at par with international standards, and to fulfill the needs of the local industries.
